The effectiveness of translation technology training: a mixed methods study

Abstract Translation technology is nowadays widely used by many language service sectors, and translation training offered universities institutions around the world. However, effectiveness of yet to be explored. To fill this gap, we conducted a questionnaire survey 385 Master Interpreting (MTI) students in China understand general trends their reception perception courses. In order probe into student’s experience taking these courses, further interviewed 8 them. All interviews, semi-structured allow for both structured free expression, were recorded transcribed verbatim analysis. The Kirkpatrick model was as evaluation framework effectiveness. Results show that some felt quite effective it enabled them gain knowledge computer-assisted tools. less positive about current cited various challenges they encountered learning. findings recommendations thereof will discussed. It hoped contribute our understanding improvement future programs.
